Today, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Conference Report to H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. “This is truly a historic day for Missouri and the United States,” Luetkemeyer said. “The goal of tax reform is broken down in three ways: more jobs, fairer taxes, and bigger paychecks for families across the country. This bill cuts taxes at every income level, doubles the standard deduction and child tax credit, and reduces loopholes, meaning Missourian’s can keep more of their hard-earned money while ensuring everyone pays their fair share. It achieves all of the goals President Trump and Congress set out to accomplish and will get our nation’s economy back on track. I look forward to President Trump signing this legislation into law and giving Americans the best Christmas gift a government can give it citizens: more freedom and less taxes.” |
