Luetkemeyer on the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement regarding House passage of the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act. This legislation will take away the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) ability to target law-abiding Americans and remove funding for the Biden Administration’s proposed army of 87,000 IRS agents.

“The Biden Administration’s unprecedented effort to form an army of 87,000 IRS agents to go after our nation’s families and small businesses is one of the many reasons voters elected a Republican House of Representatives. This plan, developed in the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, would make the IRS larger than the Pentagon, State Department, FBI, and Border Control combined. The Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act is a commonsense bill that will prohibit the massive expansion of the IRS and protect American families and small businesses from harassments and unwarranted audits,” said Luetkemeyer.

“House Republicans proved last night that we’re going to make good on our promises to the American people, and we’re just getting started.”
