Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement after the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) released its decision in Consumer Financial Protection Bureau et al. v. Community Financial Services Association of America, Ltd., et al. “Today’s Supreme Court decision affirming the funding structure of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is upsetting but underscores the urgent need for Congress to enhance oversight and accountability over the Bureau. Under the leadership of Director Chopra, the CFPB has consistently overstepped its statutory authority, pushing partisan priorities that stray far from its original mission harming businesses and consumers alike, said Congressman Luetkemeyer.” CONTACT US: I encourage you to visit my official website or call my offices in Jefferson City (573-635-7232) or Cottleville (636-327-7055) with your questions and concerns.
