Chairman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3) questioned witnesses from the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Commerce, and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as part of the Financial Services Subcommittee on National Security hearing Entitled: Mission Critical: Restoring National Security as the Focus of Defense Production Act Reauthorization, Part II.

And then table up exercises that demonstrate that the United States lacks the stockpiles of critical munitions for a military engagement with the PRC over Taiwan”, said Chairman Luetkemeyer. “Doctor, looking at the current defense stockpiles and considering the capacity and production rates of our defense industrial base. From your perspective, do you believe we are adequately positioned to meet and defeat the global threats facing the United States and our allies, including the current wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, as well as a potential conflict involving China?”
