Luetkemeyer: America Needs Real Solutions, Not Wishful Thinking
Washington,
March 1, 2022
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement regarding President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. “At a time when the world is in chaos, American families are being suffocated by inflation, businesses can’t find workers, and our borders are being inundated, I had hoped to hear some concrete solutions from President Biden tonight. Instead, he merely touched on this Administration’s shortcomings and painted a larger picture of a country that is thriving. One would think a President with a 37% approval rating would offer some significant policy changes to shift America’s course toward success. “America needs real solutions, not wishful thinking. We need the federal government to get out of small businesses’ way so they can reinvigorate our economy and provide good jobs. We need lower inflation rates so families in Missouri and across the nation can pay their bills and keep food on the table. We need a secure border so dangerous criminals and drugs stop flowing into our country. We need energy independence so Americans can stop paying tyrants and dictators for oil. And we need strong foreign policy and the toughest possible sanctions to help protect Ukraine and the rest of the world from Vladimir Putin. “Tonight was the President’s opportunity to lay out a plan to accomplish those feats. Unfortunately, he did not rise to the occasion.” |
