Luetkemeyer Named Top Republican on the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) was named Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions for the 117th Congress.

“I’m honored to once again lead one of the subcommittees that will be at the forefront of America’s economic recovery. It is our job to ensure financial institutions have the ability to continue working with their customers and get them through this difficult economic moment. And with a new Administration, we are also tasked with conducting the necessary Congressional oversight and making certain financial regulators do not resort to the Obama-era tactics of burdensome regulation,” said Congressman Luetkemeyer.

House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Patrick McHenry on Congressman Luetkemeyer:
“As Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions, Congressman Luetkemeyer will bring his deep experience as a community banker and small business owner to continue delivering common sense solutions to critical issues facing our financial system and American consumers. Last Congress, Blaine played a leading role in securing historic small business data protections and ensuring the dual health and economic crises caused by COVID-19 did not become a financial crisis. I look forward to his continued leadership in fostering a broad and robust recovery.”
