Luetkemeyer Named to Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis
Washington,
May 7, 2020
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) was selected by House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) to serve on the Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis. “At a time when the country so badly needs leadership from Congress, this committee was, unfortunately, established by the Speaker to resurrect their failed attempts to attack the President. Instead of focusing on China’s negligence and dishonesty that lead to the devastation caused by COVID-19, the Speaker is using Congressional time and resources to help Joe Biden’s campaign. “My job on this committee will focus on holding China accountable for the virus and their efforts to cover it up, ensure the families and small businesses most effected by the outbreak are getting the help they need, and to put an end to yet another political witch hunt before it starts. I am honored to be selected by Leader McCarthy and Whip Scalise to serve on the committee and look forward to working with them and President Trump as America reopens for business.” |
