Today, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement after the House of Representatives voted on key bills to provide an emergency disaster aid package to those impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria and to ensure the CHIP program is funded for children across the country. “One of my core duties as a Representative is to ensure the government is open and accessible to Americans,” Luetkemeyer said. “Today, the House kept the government doors open, provided critical funding for areas impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, and ensured the approximately nine million children who rely on CHIP have access to the care they deserve. In the new year, Congress will come back together to work out differences for a long-term spending bill to provide certainty for all Americans.” |
