U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement following the release of President Obama’s final budget proposal: “In the president’s final budget he showed, yet again, that he is not serious about getting our nation’s fiscal house in order or our economy back on track. Not only did the president give an unrealistic list of new spending programs, he blantly disregarded any real attempt to balance the budget and reduce the nation’s $19 trillion debt. The budget proposal the president has put forward raises prices at the pump, doubles down on his failed health-care law, and hurts our nation’s small businesses. In the next few weeks, House Republicans will issue their own budget proposal which will tackle the debt and help hard-working Americans get ahead by building a stronger, more competitive economy.” |
