WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) joined Tony Perkins on “Washington Watch” to discuss the issue of hospitals reporting unrelated fatalities as COVID-19 deaths to receive more funding. See below for highlights or click HERE for the full interview. “People were in automobile accidents and then they were listed as dying from COVID. People had heart attacks and they were listed as COVID… If they did have COVID in their system, it’s listed as the cause of death.” “The Governor of Colorado did a study of his numbers and found that 12% of the deaths were incorrectly attested to COVID-19. I can tell you we also are aware that Pennsylvania’s got a couple hundred as well as Texas now just this last week has found 225 people who were miscategorized as dying from COVID.” “I’ve got a letter… to Dr. [Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health at HHS] and Dr. [Robert Redfield, Director of the CDC] and said you guys have testified under oath in my committee that you believe there’s some funny business going on with these numbers, that they’re being overstated, so what are you going to do about it? Because it is taxpayer dollars that are being used here -- manipulated. My job is to make sure they’re not being taken advantage of and that taxpayer dollars are not being used inappropriately here.” |
