Yesterday the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the termination of funding for research involving fetal tissue obtained through elective abortions. Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement:

“With this announcement, the Trump administration has once again made it a priority to promote the dignity of human life and ensure the government is neither benefiting from nor encouraging abortions,” said Congressman Luetkemeyer. “For years I have lead the charge against taxpayer funded research involving human fetal tissue that is obtained by an abortion. It is now time for Congress to follow the President’s lead and pass my legislation, the Protecting Life and Integrity in Research Act, in order to permanently put an end to this horrific practice.”
