U.S. Representatives Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) and Ann Wagner (MO-02) sent a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos last week in support of the St. Louis area’s bid for Amazon HQ2.

“The St. Louis region has a metro population of over one million people and spans across two states,” said Reps. Luetkemeyer and Wagner in the letter. “As the longstanding “Gateway to the West,” St. Louis’ identity is complementary to Amazon’s mission of connecting the world through commerce. The region has unparalleled access to some of the largest national rivers, highways, and railroads. Additionally, our international airport offers necessary and available infrastructure for your company to operate in a global market.”

The letter continued by highlighting the fact that “St. Louis boasts one of the fastest growing tech and start up scenes,” and that “the people of St. Louis are proud to dig their roots in a hometown with high-quality education, a low cost of living, and ample opportunity.”

Reps. Luetkemeyer and Wagner concluded that, “Collectively, St. Louis is a diverse and welcoming region that is well suited for the Amazon community to grow and thrive in for generations.”
