“I applaud the announcement from the Treasury Department regarding the recently negotiated covered agreement deal. This deal is about leveling the playing field and ensuring U.S. companies operating abroad are not subjected to European-centric standards. We must ensure the American system is recognized around the world. This announcement underscores that the Administration understands the importance of providing clarification to policy holders, respecting the authorities of the state insurance commissioners, and, ultimately, reaching a good deal for America.”
