This week, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) hosted Sue Engelage of Lohman for the annual Congressional Foster Youth Shadow Day.

“It was a pleasure meeting and spending time with Sue while she was in Washington for National Youth Foster Shadow Day,” Luetkemeyer said. “Sue is a bright, young individual who is passionate about advocating for foster kids, not only in Missouri, but across America. As a member of Congress, I remain committed to ensuring that every child has a safe, supportive, and permanent family.”

Engelage is the Program Coordinator for Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association.

The bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth unites over 140 Members of Congress to examine the challenges facing all foster youth and develop bipartisan policy initiatives. Shadow Day allows foster youth to share their experiences in foster care directly with Congress to help inform and improve child welfare policy.
