U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement after the United States Supreme Court blocked President Obama’s immigration plan that sought to keep millions of individuals living in the United States illegally from deportation. “Today is a major victory in our continued fight to protect our homeland, restore the separation of powers, and uphold Article 1 of our Constitution. The Supreme Court’s decision makes it clear that the president does not have the authority to change the law through executive order. The authority to alter United States law, including immigration law, is reserved for Congress.” |
