U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) issued the following statement following House passage of the Senate Amendment to H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act.

“Today, Congress passed, as its first piece of major legislation for 2016, a bill that repeals much of Obamacare, defunds Planned Parenthood, and provides additional funding for community health centers. This legislation is on the President’s desk where, instead of being able to turn a blind eye, he will be forced to make a decision or allow his cohorts in the Senate to tie it up and defeat it as they have done over 50 times. Will President Obama support patient choice in health-care and the conscience rights of Americans? Or will he support a law the majority of Americans oppose and an organization that profited from the body parts of aborted infants? 2016 is a brand new year and it is my hope that Congress can continue to get more pieces of legislation to the President’s desk that will force him to publicly decide between the interests of the American people and his own political agenda.”
