U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3) issued the following statement after he voted to repeal the president’s health-care law and direct the committees of jurisdiction in the House of Representatives to replace it with a common-sense solution: “The House has voted to repeal the president’s health-care law in the past but today’s vote recognizes that Congress must step up and continue to lead on this issue. I am a proud cosponsor of this legislation because today’s vote would not only repeal the law, but it would also task the House Committees of jurisdiction to replace it with a serious, common-sense alternative. The president’s health-care law has been a bureaucratic nightmare and far too many Americans have lost their doctors, seen their premiums rise, and it has created uncertainty for individuals, families, health-care providers, employers, and employees. One day the president’s health-care law will crumble beneath its own weight, but House Republicans will not sit idly by and wait for that to happen. The House is committed to repealing the president’s health-care law and crafting an alternative so that Americans will not continue to suffer the burdens of this disastrous law.” |
