Luetkemeyer Backs Farm Bill Extension While Work Wraps Up on Comprehensive Plan

As part of his commitment to protecting American farmers, U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3) today voted for a short-term Farm Bill extension which extends through January 31, 2014, most provisions of current farm policy until work is completed on a comprehensive Farm Bill.

Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3) today voted for a short-term Farm Bill extension which extends through January 31, 2014, most provisions of current farm policy until work is completed on a comprehensive Farm Bill. “As Congress continues to complete its work on a larger Farm Bill, I felt it was important that we pass this extension in order to provide a sense of continuity to American farmers and ranchers until a final agreement can be hammered out early next year, “ Luetkemeyer said. “We are much closer to finishing the Farm Bill than ever before but it’s important that we get it right while also ensuring that during tough economic times we don’t impose increased hardships on our farm communities.” |
