Luetkemeyer Urges Local Farmers to Sign Up for USDA Trade Support Program

Washington, July 30, 2019 -

On Friday, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced additional information regarding the Market Facilitation Program (MFP), Food Purchase and Distribution Program (FPDP), and Agricultural Trade Promotion Program (ATP). As the Trump Administration continues to work on free, fair and reciprocal trade deals, agricultural producers can receive assistance through the MFP by signing up through Friday, December 6, 2019.

“As farmers across Missouri face undue hardship due to trade tensions, I thank President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue for prioritizing efforts to provide relief. The MFP will ensure our farmers are provided with the support they need to continue the important work of feeding and clothing our great nation,” said Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03).

As of this week, farmers can submit the MFP application by dropping it off at their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) county office, or by fax, mail, or email. Additional information on what commodities are covered, who is eligible, and how payments work can be found at www.Farmers.gov/manage/mfp. Please feel free to contact the office of Congressman Luetkemeyer at 573-635-7232 with any additional questions.
