Luetkemeyer, Fintech Task Force Hold Hearing on Digital Currency

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the House Financial Services Task Force on Financial Technology held a hearing entitled, "Digitizing the Dollar: Investigating the Technological Infrastructure, Privacy, and Financial Inclusion Implications of Central Bank Digital Currencies.” Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) discussed the need to take the digital dollar seriously to keep pace with international competitors and ensure the dollar remains the reserve currency of the world, while dismissing the idea of the digital dollar being a step toward postal banking.
