Luetkemeyer on Biden Administration’s WOTUS Announcement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement regarding the announcement that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Army Corps of Engineers will rewrite the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule, the Obama-era rule that was revised under the Trump Administration.

“Unfortunately, the Biden Administration’s overregulation regime continues. This time they are doubling down on President Obama’s disastrous water policy that gives the federal government control over nearly every body of water in the U.S. down to drainage ditches and seasonal streams on private property. Missouri homeowners, farmers, and businesses do not need any more government interference in their lives.”

Background:
The Trump Administration directed agencies of jurisdiction to review and replace the (Waters of the United States) WOTUS rule, returning power back to the states and proposed a new definition of WOTUS to end years of regulatory uncertainty.
