Blaine's Bulletin: Working for You
Washington,
April 19, 2019
Each and every day I strive to represent my constituents in the Third Congressional District of Missouri to the best of my ability. Whether I’m fighting for our Missouri values in Washington D.C. or working alongside our local communities, my constituents come first. Not only do I have the opportunity to work for all of you, but I am supported by a team of hardworking staff who serve our district as well. The week of April 22nd, my staff will be holding constituent service days across Missouri’s Third District from Wentzville to Linn to Camdenton and everywhere in between. Staff from my office will travel the district to assist constituents, one-on-one, with anything from veterans’ benefits to Medicare issue to general questions regarding federal agencies. My office can act as a liaison between you and a federal agency and make inquiries on your behalf. We understand how difficult it can be to navigate the maze of the federal bureaucracy, and I urge you to take advantage of constituent service days, so we can help. A full list of dates and locations can be found on my website, Luetkemeyer.House.Gov. In addition to constituent service days, my offices stand ready to provide many additional services for constituents. Visiting Washington D.C. Last year, my office had the opportunity to give U.S. Capitol tours to more than 1,000 Missourians! If you’re planning a trip to Washington D.C. please reach out to my office as soon as you know your plans. We are happy to give you a tour of the U.S. Capitol led by a member of my staff. We can also coordinate tours of the Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and even the FBI headquarters. If you’re interested in a White House tour, I urge you to reach out as soon as possible due to high demand and limited availability. Service Academy Nominations I encourage the many outstanding young men and women throughout the 3rd district to contact my office and learn more about the service academy admissions process. Our academies provide the opportunity for an exceptional education and a chance to serve our nation. The four United States service academies accepting Congressional nominations are West Point in New York (Army), the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland (Navy and Marine Corps), the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado (Air Force), and the Merchant Marine Academy in New York (Merchant Marine). The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require Congressional nominations, but my office can provide information about it. We are currently accepting applications for the class of 2024, and any interested students should contact my Jefferson City office at 573-635-7232 for more information about the application process. Congressional Art Competition Each year, the Congressional Art Competition provides an opportunity for high school artists from the third district of Missouri to demonstrate their talents. Students from our district have submitted incredible artwork over the last few years from drawings, to paintings, to photography depicting everything from symbols of American freedom to famous Missourians to the students themselves. The winning entry from the Third Congressional District will be displayed at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. for one year. All entries must be delivered to one of my offices by Tuesday, April 23rd for inclusion in the 2019 Congressional Art Competition. I look forward to seeing this year’s unique submissions! Flags Another little-known service we provide is the ability get Missourians a flag flown over the United States Capitol. Whether it’s to commemorate a specific event like a graduation, retirement, or birthday or simply to fly Old Glory at your house we are ready to assist you. If you’re interested in obtaining a flag flown over the United States Capitol, please call my Washington D.C. office at (202) 225-2956 or fill out the form on my website Luetkemeyer.House.Gov. |
