Luetkemeyer Applauds Revised Definition of WOTUS

The Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule was one of the most egregious regulations stemming from the Obama Administration. When President Trump took office, he directed agencies of jurisdiction to review and replace the WOTUS rule, returning power back to the states. Today, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a new definition of WOTUS to end years of regulatory uncertainty. Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement:

“As we continue the fight for reasonable and responsible regulation, I applaud the EPA’s revised definition of WOTUS. The revised definition rightly returns power over navigable waters to the states and eliminates the confusion that has plagued the regulation for years,” said Congressman Luetkemeyer. “Regulated entities such as our Missouri farmers, ranchers, and small businesses across the state deserve regulatory clarity, predictability, and consistency. I’m happy to see the Trump administration taking action.”
